What are credits and how many do I need for my survey?

How credits are charged - by number of questions, number of responses and if translations are required.

What are credits?

Credits are the 'currency' being used on the platform. We have different pricing packages for our credits, which you can refer to here.

How many credits do I need for my survey?

When creating a survey, the cost of the survey is based on the following factors:

  1. If you're using our Automated Insight Launcher
  2. If you're using our Survey Builder

    1. Cost per survey response

      1. The number of questions in the survey

      2. The number of quotas in the survey
    2. The number of responses you need from the survey

    3. If you require translation

    4. Which country you're conducting your survey in

Let's go through all of these one by one, but you can check your final cost calculation here!

How many credits do I need for using Automated Insight Launcher?

When you're using Automated Insight Launcher, the cost is based on the number of variants and the number of attributes you'd like to test. Check the calculation for Automated Insight Launcher here!

The base price of Automated Insight Launcher starts from 4,800 credits, with 400 responses (fixed) and a ready-to-use report.Don't worry if you're still unsure how our credit system works! You can access this link, input your requirements and we'll show you the final cost.

If you require a further explanation on our costing or the packages we have available, don't hesitate to contact us via the chat bubble on the right, and we'd be happy to answer any questions you might have!

Cost per survey response

This refers to how much it would cost for you to get one response to your survey. This is calculated as follows:

Cost per survey response = Number of questions + Number of quotas

The number of questions in the survey

Screener questions cost 3 credits each, and all other question types cost 1 credit each. So if you had a 12-question survey with 1 screener question and 11 other questions, it would cost you 14 credits per response (3 credits for the screener question + 11 credits for the other 11 questions).

Screener questions are the questions that screen out respondents you don't want. For example, if your survey was targeting bubble tea drinkers, the screener question below would only allow those who have consumed bubble tea in the past month to answer the rest of the survey.

If a respondent has NOT selected bubble tea, you will not have to pay for their response. The only response you'll pay for are those who have selected bubble tea.

If certain questions contain display logic, they will be counted as 1 question as usual when calculating number of credits per response.

The number of quotas in the survey

If you require quotas in your survey, each quota you set per answer option will cost 2 credits per quota. This will include the quotas set on demographics (age, gender, race, region and state) as well as quotas set on certain questions' answer options. For example, if you were to ask "Which of the following brands have you heard of?" and you wanted at least 50 respondents who have selected Brand A, you can set a quota to ensure that Brand A collects "at least 50 responses". Setting this quota will cost you 2 credits for each response you get. If I also wanted to set a quota to ensure that at most 60 respondents selected Brand B, that would cost me another 2 credits.

Going back to what a Cost per response would be in this example, in general it's counted as:

In this 12-survey example we've been using, the calculation for cost per survey response is:

The number of responses you need from the survey

Your total cost also depends on the number of respondents.

Let's take a very simple example first. If you have 1 non-screener question to ask 100 respondents, it will cost you 100 credits. If you have 2 non-screener questions to ask 100 respondents, it will cost you 200 credits.

If you have 1 non-screener question to ask 100 respondents, and you have set one quota, it will cost you 300 credits.

Basically, we're working off the following formula:

Let's take the same 12-question survey as before, with 1 screener question and 11 other questions, which would cost you 14 credits per response. If you needed 400 responses, the survey would cost you:

If you added 3 quotas to the survey, it would now cost:

If you require translation

If your survey is going to be in more than one language, and you require our services for translation, this will cost you an additional 10 credits per question, per language. You may refer to Every to see the various languages we offer for translations.

Taking the same example of our 12-questions survey, which you need translated to one language, translation will cost:

If your survey was 12 questions long, and you need it translated to two languages, translation will cost:

However, if you provide your own translation(s), you will not be charged for translation costs.

Which country you're conducting your survey in

This is how you should calculate the amount of credits you need for surveys that run in Malaysia.

Here's how you should calculate the amount of credits you need for surveys that run outside Malaysia.
